2009 Achievements

  • Expanded the email database of all DFP members and stakeholders.
  • Hosted the DFP Annual Meeting and marketing campaign kickoff.
  • Updated the DFP Policies & Procedures.
  • Published a bi-monthly downtown newsletter.
  • Began “Welcome Visits” to all new downtown businesses. Businesses are given a gift bag from local businesses and press releases are issued.

    2010 Goals

  • Continue volunteer acknowledgment: “Friend of the Downtown” and “Volunteer of the Year” Awards.
  • Plan the annual meeting.
  • Continue bi-monthly DFP newsletter; continue to transition into electronic newsletters.
  • Administer electronic surveys as needed regarding DFP operations and initiatives.
  • Update and revise the DFP Policies and Procedures as needed.
  • Public relations to heighten the awareness of the organization.
       · Continue to host Welcome Visits to all new downtown businesses.
       · Plan the DFP Annual Meeting.
       · Publish the DFP Newsletter.
       · Continue to write and distribute organizational press releases.
       · Complete a “Benefits of the DFP Brochure” to distribute to businesses and property owners.
  • Create networking opportunities for downtown business people. Assess the current networking events that are held by the DFP – the Downtown Morning Exchange and Come Together After 5.
  • Fundraising for capital projects as needed. This might include the fundraising to purchase additional Holiday tree lights for Veterans Park.
  • Update, access and review content of the DFP Website. Verifying that the website is representing the DFP organization accurately.
